AEB-L stainless steel is a material renowned in the cutlery industry for its exceptional quality and performance. It is widely used by cutlery craftsmen thanks to its specific properties.
AEB-L is a top-of-the-range stainless steel, specially designed to offer excellent corrosion resistance and good edge retention.
A key feature of AEB-L steel is its relatively low carbon content, which makes it easier to sharpen and maintain. However, it still offers a high level of hardness, ensuring a long-lasting, precise cutting edge. What's more, the presence of chromium gives AEB-L steel enhanced resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for use in damp environments.
AEB-L steel is also appreciated for its toughness, i.e. its ability to resist deformation and breakage. This makes it a reliable choice for knives intended for intensive use.
Knifemakers also appreciate the ease with which AEB-L steel can be worked. It is malleable, enabling craftsmen to achieve complex shapes and precise finishes. What's more, it can be polished to produce a smooth, aesthetically appealing surface.
