The great koudou (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) is an impressive African antelope. Males are distinguished by their spectacular spiral horns, which can be more than two metres long. The large koudou has a greyish-brown dress and a distinctive mane in adult males. It is found in savannahs and forested areas of Africa, usually in small groups or solitary. This species feeds mainly on herbs, leaves and buds. A symbol of African wildlife, the great Koudou is admired for its beauty and its presence in its natural habitat.
