The giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) is an iconic animal of African savannah. Known for its long neck, it is the largest existing terrestrial species. The giraffes can reach a height of 5 to 6 meters, with a weight of up to 2 tons. Their speckled coat, consisting of brownish spots on a white background, makes them recognizable. Males sometimes wear ossicone horns on their foreheads. These graceful herbivores feed mainly on acacia leaves and other trees. Despite their imposing size, the giraffes are docile and peaceful, often living in loose flocks, adding a magical touch to the African savannah.
