Latin name: Betula pubescens.
Other names: birch from Finland, birch maser, birch from Carinthia.
Origin: Northern Europe on peatlands and wetlands.
Colour: spotted brown to cream-white.
Comments: This wood is dense and easy to work. In cutlery and cabinetmaking are tortuous trunks and magnifiers that are sought after. They deliver a wood called madré, i.e. veined or speckled with brown with a nice effect, peculiar to veneer.
Natural wood: Wood is a material widely used in the manufacture of knives, DIY and handicrafts. We offer over 30 wood species selected for their aesthetic and/or mechanical qualities. Sold as pads, sleeves or blocks. The sleeves are always made of two paired pieces.
Our catalogue: We offer a wide range of natural wood, stabilized wood, bones, horns, cervids, minerals, composite materials (carbons, fiberglass, etc.) and mounting accessories (visserie).
