Comments: Its wood is robust, hard and durable. It is often marked with small black dots. The sapwood is clear and the Duramen is distinct red-orange. This tree is the longest-lived tree in Europe. It takes the shade well and offers a very beautiful lustre. Because it is oily, this wood is hard to stick. It is used in the manufacture of small furniture in English style, but also in sculpture, interior carpentry, veneer. It is easy to turn and is suitable for bending.
