1095 steel is a carbon steel with a high cutting capacity. 1095 is synonymous with knife making. It is an economical and high quality steel offering great flexibility in its handling. It is great stand-alone steel which can produce decent hamons or paired with 15N20 to produce Damascus steel. Sold: Hot Rolled Pickled Annealed.
All of our steels are supplied flat and stress relieved (This helps to reduce the waring during heat treatment - we are the only supplier who adds this operation).

Chemical Composition:

| 0.9 - 1.03% | 0.3 – 0.5% | 0.03% | 0.05% |
Heat treatment:
- Heat to 800 – 830C Hold for 1 minute in oil or water (oil recommended))
- Temper for two hours at 200C for 63HRc
- Temper for two hours at 230C for 62HRc
Dimensions possible on order:
Max length: 10 to 600 mm
Width: 30, 40, 50, 75, 100 and 150 mm
Thickness: 2.3, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5 mm
