Back to origins / Inclusions of African loincloth fabrics

Mercorne is above all a story of family, heart, and passions. Africa is an integral part of Mercorne. You find our values which are depicted by Baoulé weights (African tribe from West Africa) and zebu horns which mainly come from Nigeria. This African inspiration comes from the fact that Pome lived in Ivory Coast for 14 years before entering high school (lucky him).

During the summer of 2019, Pome and Benoit treated themselves to a little getaway to Ivory Coast. From this trip, they brought back beautiful African traditional fabrics (these two never stop working). So, we decided to offer you these fabrics in the form of inclusions so that you can add a touch of Africa to your next creations.

The fabric is a garment used in hot countries as the main clothing (it covers at least the intimate parts). Fabric, in general, takes the form of a rectangular piece of fabric that is wrapped around the hips. There are many types of fabrics depending on the tribes and eras.
