rotecting Woods: The Washington Convention, a Duty for All of Us

Since October 2016, all species of rosewoods (Dalbergia spp.); three species of bubingas (Guibourtia demeusei, Guibourtia pellegriniana, Guibourtia tessmannii); and the wood of vène (Pterocarpus erinaceus) are listed in its Appendix II of the Washington Convention.

For sales in France and the European Union, your knife must be accompanied by a document specifying:

Either the Latin name, "imported into EU/France before COP17" or "OW",

Or the import permit number.

These details are included on our invoices and on each piece we sell.

For sales to another country outside the European Union: this is then a re-export. You must attach a permit to the sales document. This is obtained from your DREAL. The procedure is quite simple, just create an account on the CITES website: https://cites.application.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/
