Walnut burl (Juglans regia) is one of the most sought-after wood species for knife-makers, because of its natural swirling figures, which grow out of the trunk or roots. These unique patterns, impossible to reproduce, give each handle a strong visual identity. This specimen is stabilized using the BY RAFFIR method, which impregnates the wood with a high-performance resin to make it denser, more homogeneous and waterproof, while sublimating its natural patterns.
BY RAFFIR stabilized walnut burl is easy to machine: sawing, sanding and polishing can be carried out with conventional woodworking tools. The result is a glossy surface with warm reflections that enhances the wood's natural grain. Its resistance to humidity and thermal variations makes it a high-quality material for fine cutlery. Each piece is unique, thanks to the natural patterns of the burr.
This handle is made up of 2 matching plates: the pattern on plate 1 corresponds exactly to that on plate 2. The price indicated is for the complete handle (2 plates).
