Finishing with wax or high-gloss varnish is recommended to amplify the effect of depth.

Stability and durability

Once cured, the resin protects the fabric from moisture, oils and common cleaning products. The material stands up well to everyday use on table knives and light kitchen knives. The African loincloth inclusions are an original Mercorne creation, born of a trip by Pome and Benoît to the Ivory Coast in the summer of 2019. Back in La Monnerie-le-Montel, they worked with their workshop to develop an inclusion method that preserves the vivid colors and texture of the original fabric. Since 2020, the range has continued to expand: the catalog now includes over 178 references, covering a wide variety of patterns and origins.
