Mercorne’s inlays are materials for knife handles that have been manufactured in France since 2006 in our workshop in La Monnerie-le-Montel. The process involves embedding carefully selected elements—fabrics, feathers, lace, exotic leathers, gold or silver leaf, and natural motifs—into PMMA acrylic resin. The result is a unique handle with a transparency close to that of glass, guaranteed to be bubble-free and resistant to yellowing over time.
For 18 years, Mercorne has been refining and continuously improving its embedding processes to offer pieces that are both original and technically reliable. PMMA resin can be worked with woodworking tools, polishes easily, and is resistant to dishwasher detergents—a rare advantage for a handcrafted handle. Each piece is cut in our French workshop. To help you choose the right design for your project, Olivier is available to answer all your technical questions.
