Warm hues dominate this plate, with a predominance of oranges and browns that soften the usually vivid side of the colorful guinea fowl, ideal for a warm handle.

The guinea fowl feathers used are selected for their dense patterns and rich shades. Dyed and then dried, they are placed by hand in a mold before casting with PMMA (methyl methacrylate) resin - a transparent, hard material that is perfectly stable over time. Casting in several passes produces a homogeneous, bubble-free sheet, whose transparency highlights every detail of the feather: shaft, barbs, moirures. Final density close to 1.2, comparable to micarta.

This plate is designed for knife-makers looking for an alternative to traditional materials (wood, horn, composites). It can be band-sawn, milled, sanded and polished to a 2000-grain mirror finish.
