The molar of the woolly mammoth(Mammuthus primigenius) is one of the most graphic fossil materials used in cutlery. Its characteristic lamellar structure - alternating blades of enamel, dentin and cementum visible in cross-section - creates impossible-to-reproduce natural patterns, unique to each specimen. Legally marketable without CITES restrictions, this Siberian fossil material offers absolute rarity: each piece is unique and irreplaceable.

The handle is stabilized by BY RAFFIR, a Scandinavian specialist in the recycling of fossil and organic materials. The blue coloring is fully integrated during the vacuum resin impregnation process: the molar's lamellar blades capture the hue in depth, creating a striking contrast between the natural fossil structure and the vivid color. The resulting material is dense, homogeneous and resistant to humidity and mechanical shock.

For cutlery, stabilized mammoth molar can be machined with conventional woodworking tools: saw, burr and sander. It can be sanded to a fine grain and polished to a high gloss, revealing all the richness of its lamellar structure. This handle is made up of 2 matching inserts: the pattern on insert 1 corresponds exactly to that on insert 2. The price indicated is for the complete handle (2 plates).
