Woolly mammoth bone (Mammuthus primigenius) is an exceptionally rare fossilized material extracted from Siberian permafrost. Its natural structure ranges from beige to brown, with characteristic veining and patterns that give each piece an absolutely unique appearance. It is a highly prized material for the manufacture of top-of-the-range handles. Here, stabilized in the Mercorne workshop using an exclusive process (odorless, high impregnation rate), mammoth bone gains in density, dimensional stability and mechanical strength. It is easy to work with conventional tools (milling cutters, files, abrasive paper) and takes on a high quality gloss polish. Each handle is unique: the customer receives exactly the product photographed. This handle is made up of 2 matched inserts: the pattern on insert 1 corresponds exactly to that on insert 2. The price quoted is for the complete handle (2 inserts).
