Flamed poplar(Populus nigra) is a European wood with golden highlights and characteristic undulating patterns, formed by the natural curvature of the wood fibers. Highly sought-after by knifemakers for its flame-like patterns - evocative of a forest in motion - it offers a warm, lively aesthetic that is difficult to find in other species.

This handle is stabilized using Mercorne's exclusive process: core impregnation of a pigmented resin under vacuum and high pressure. The brown tint penetrates evenly into the fibers, enhancing density and moisture resistance, while revealing the flames with an authentic earthy warmth. The recipe, improved since 2020, is odorless and guarantees optimum impregnation. The material takes on an exceptional gloss polish and is easy to work with conventional woodworking tools.

This handle is made up of 2 matched inserts: the pattern on insert 1 corresponds exactly to that on insert 2. The price indicated is for the complete handle (2 inserts).
