Woolly mammoth ivory(Mammuthus primigenius) is an exceptional fossil extracted from the permafrost of Siberia, tens of thousands of years old. It is perfectly legal to trade, as it does not come from any protected living species.

This handle has been stabilized using Mercorne's exclusive blue-colored resin process: core impregnation ensures that the color penetrates deep into the wood, without remaining on the surface. The odorless recipe, improved in 2020, offers a high impregnation rate, increased density and exceptional mirror polish. The blue hues blend with the natural veins of fossil ivory to create a handle that is both precious and contemporary, much sought-after in high-end cutlery.
