Innover

Each year we define the innovations to be created. Then, following a very precise protocol, tests are carried out to find a suitable process. Over 150 tests are carried out each year. Some ideas never make it beyond this stage, much to the regret of Pome, whom we nickname "Miss 100,000 Ideas".

If the first process is satisfactory, we produce a small series to assess its reproducibility. This small series also allows us to subject the new material to a series of tortures to gauge its behavior. Next comes industrialization, during which we improve the process to make it economically viable. And here again, many prototypes don't pass this test because they are too costly to produce; they then join the long list of materials waiting to be produced one day, perhaps with new technology.

However, when all these stages have been successfully completed, a new material is offered for sale.

The innovation department is also committed to improving existing processes, with two leitmotivs: working with materials that have a low impact on the environment, and reducing production costs.
