Stabilized wood for knives | Atelier & Raffir | Mercorne

Stabilized wood is a natural wood vacuum-impregnated with synthetic resin, colorless or pigmented, which preserves all its beauty while eliminating its fragility: sensitivity to humidity, temperature variations and dirt. The result is a dense, stable, polished-to-gloss material - ideal for demanding artisan knife handles. At Mercorne, we practice stabilization in our own workshop in La Monnerie-le-Montel: each bead selected by hand, each shade mastered, each batch checked before shipment.

In these pages, you'll find our full catalog of stabilized woods: our own stabilizations on some twenty French and European species, as well as the Raffir range - for which Mercorne is the official and only reseller in France. From flamed bouleraux to wood-resin tetris, from mortas to wavy maples: a single catalog, the widest selection in Europe. Any doubts about your choice? Olivier can personally answer all your technical questions.
