White camel bone is one of the oldest natural materials used in cutlery. Derived from the dromedary(Camelus dromedarius), mainly from India, it is distinguished by its light ivory color, firm density and compact grain, which facilitates shaping in the workshop. Its natural whiteness makes it an ideal medium for meticulous finishes, whether left rough, mirror-sanded or lightly tinted.
At Mercorne, white camel bones are selected for their consistency and cut in our workshop in France. For the past 34 years, we have been assisting artisan cutlers in their choice of raw materials, with technical advice available directly from Olivier. Same-day shipping, returns accepted within 15 days, free delivery on orders over €90.
