Zebra bone | Handcrafted knife handles | Mercorne

Zebra bone is an exceptional cutlery material, derived from the tibias of the zebra (genus Equus) from South Africa. Naturally creamy white, it has a dense, homogeneous texture that makes it particularly stable to machining. Cutlery craftsmen appreciate its natural hardness, good grip and ability to reveal subtle nuances once polished. Stabilized and tinted, it offers a palette of colors and a fine grain equally suited to hunting knife handles and exceptional collector's pieces.

At Mercorne, zebra bones have been selected for their consistent quality for over 34 years. Each piece is cut in our workshop in France, in sections adapted to the manufacture of handles: plates, half-round or round. With 42 references available, our catalog covers the most common handcrafted formats. If you have any technical questions, Olivier will be happy to answer them personally.
