Stabilized flamed poplar | Knife handles | Mercorne

Stabilized flamed poplar is one of the most sought-after woods in cutlery for its undulating grain and spectacular figure. Derived from aspen or white poplar, this naturally soft wood is transformed by the stabilization process - vacuum impregnation of acrylic resins - which gives it the hardness, dimensional stability and water resistance essential to the manufacture of durable knife handles.

Mercorne carefully selects each plank of stabilized flamed poplar for the intensity and regularity of its flames. The pieces are cut in our workshop in France according to your formats, guaranteeing a consistent level of quality with every order. For advice on choosing a material or finish, Olivier will answer your questions directly.
