Deer antlers and antler rings | Knife handles | Mercorne

The deer antler ring—also known as a “stave”—is a cross-section of deer antler taken from the main shaft. The crown, known as the “meule,” refers to the base of the antler, the junction between the frontal bone and the merrain, which is particularly dense and features unique natural patterns. These two forms constitute a distinct material for cutlery: of natural origin, each piece is unique in its color, texture, and diameter.

Mercorne has been selecting its European deer antler logs and crowns for 34 years, favoring pieces with a beautiful natural patina, free of cracks or structural defects. Cut in our workshop in France, they are available in a wide range of diameters and lengths to suit all projects—from hunting knives to high-end folding knives. Olivier and his team are available to help you find the piece that best fits your needs.
